Deep Corrugated Metal Roofing

Deep Corrugated Metal Roofing

Deep corrugated metal roofing is formed with tall ribs — typically 76 mm or 130 mm — that dramatically raise the panel's section modulus. The deeper the rib, the more load a given steel weight can carry, which lets the designer widen purlin spacing and lighten the whole steel frame.

Product Description

Deep corrugated metal roofing is formed with tall ribs - typically 76 mm or 130 mm - that dramatically raise the panel's section modulus. The deeper the rib, the more load a given steel weight can carry, which lets the designer widen purlin spacing and lighten the whole steel frame. The result is a strong, economical roof that erects quickly over warehouses, factories, aircraft hangars and agricultural buildings, where a long span and a low budget must coexist.

Features

Ribs deliver far higher stiffness per kilo than shallow profiles; wide-cover panels reduce the number of joints and flashings; continuous lengths up to 18 m remove end laps and their leak risk; and a bold, structured appearance suits industrial architecture. Coated finishes resist chalking in exposed sites.

Advantages

By widening purlin spacing, the deep profile cuts the number of purlins and their brackets, saving steel, welding and erection time in the frame. Fewer panel joints mean fewer sealant lines and fewer potential leaks. The stiff section also resists foot-traffic denting better than shallow sheets during installation and maintenance.

Benefits

Project owners see a lower total building cost because the frame and roof steel both shrink; contractors finish cladding faster with fewer pieces to lift; and building users gain a strong, low-maintenance envelope that stands up to hail, wind and years of industrial use without sagging between purlins.

Applications

Primary applications are industrial and logistics buildings: warehouses, distribution centers, factories, workshops, cold stores, aircraft hangars and covered storage - structures with wide bays where shallow roofing would demand excessive purlins.

More Application Cases

Other cases include farm buildings and livestock sheds, sports halls and gymnasiums, market canopies, bus terminals, and large carport canopies where the deep rib spans cleanly between simple supports, plus retrofit re-roofing to increase load capacity without replacing the frame.
